I play the online version, and I've run into an issue. whenever I antagonize a cat who wants to join, and I get the response that the patrol drove them off of the territory, something weird happens. it still adds them to the clan, sometimes with kits. its as if I didn't just chase them off? is this an issue or am I just interpreting it wrong?
I have a Lenovo laptop with Microsoft windows. I keep downloading and extracting all files but yet, it still doesnt work. Would this work on a Lenovo which has Microsoft windows?
I wish there was a button in settings to disable changing genders in the events tab. There's already a button in each cat's personal tab to do that and I already have headcanons for my cats' gender.
I think the developers have said before they have no plans to create toggles that would remove or prevent trans cats from generating or occurring via events, as it is a harmless gameplay element that you can easily change per-cat in their profile options and the devs are also lgbt or allies to the community.
You're still welcome to change the cat's gender via their profile page! It's not set in stone and you don't have to keep what the game decides. The game is build on RNG aspects, that's always going to be an aspect of it.
download the file, unzip it, go into the folder, look for "Clangen.exe" and open it for comfort of use you can right click the file, create a shortcut, and move the shortcut somewhere else (like your desktop) :)

Hello. I downloaded the Linux version(for ChromeOS because that's the one that seemed to be the one that would work) and I went through files for a long time but was never able to actually play the game. Anyone know what I should do?
Extract the file and move the 'clangen' folder into downloads. Then right click to open in terminal (make sure Linux is enabled first!) and run ./Clangen

If you've paired cats up or theres a set of mates in the clan it could be a glitch, although it does take 1 or 2+ moons I think (Unless they're madly in love yk) If you're still haveing trouble I suggest the discord!

This happened to me earlier. Sadly i had to go into the pregnancy.json and delete whatever was in there only leaving {} .
And i had to go back in time and hopefully pray to role a cat who was expecting kits, save the game, and going back into the pregnancy file and changing the ID's of the cats. Hope this helps.

A while back I had a chromebook and worked really hard to get linux to run on it so I could play Undertale. So it MIGHT be possible since this game seems to have linux downloads, I just suggest you do some research into how to get linux on your specific chromebook.

Here's what I did! Go to the little apple at the top left of the screen and click on system preferences. Then click on security & privacy (the little house) and go to general. There should be something near the bottom that says "open anyway" click that and then it should work!!
I may not be an expert or any of the people working on the game, but it sounds like it might be that your antivirus is the problem. You might need to check and see if it trusts ClanGen. Most antiviruses don't trust ClanGen due to it being an EXE file, but it's harmless. If it says it doesn't trust ClanGen, I'd suggest marking it as an exception in the antivirus. If that doesn't work, or don't know how to do that, then I have no idea either. Hope this helps!
Yes, If you join their discord, there are channels for save file editing and coding and modding that have pinned guides on all kinds of edits you can do. I can't remember which channel has it, but I know I've seen a guide or a pinned post for pregnancy edits.
Due to new updates I decided to uninstall clangen and reinstall it with the new version. The problem is that it doesn't want to start. I downloaded the game using exactly the same procedure as the first time, but as soon as I enter the data into Thonny, it doesn't want to save and a table of commands/codes appear on the screen that I don't know exactly. And finally I can't close Thonny. I will be glad for help.

Open the clangen_win folder and scroll down till you see a file called ClanGen click it and press extract all, when it's done extracting run the game if your PC says it could be a dangerous file press read more and run anyway you should have the game after that.
I've been having lots of difficulties downloading overall- I have no idea how to get into it using linux, as I've been told that it works for Chromebooks, and the online version simply won't load anymore and is causing me lots of frustration.
perhaps there could be like little preset clans of like the clans in the books, for example a preset with thunderclan with the allegiances of into the wild (if that even makes sense)

The things I'm using to download aren't working? and I'm getting the right file (Clangen_Win64.zip) Its just the apps, what should i use instead? (Windows 10) || I Have downloaded it ! and it works just had some struggles here and there-
You can download 7zip and open the archive. Then just drag the Clangen file to your designated location; like the desktop or another file of your choice and boom! it's just that easy. Within the Clangen file moved from the archive is Clangen.exe, click that and it should open as normal. If you run into any issues ask the Discord; there are plenty of people who will be more than happy to help. ^-^
Also, I am keeping notes on every new thing that I have seen in this update. So far I have noticed:
1. Save button is fancier
2. Pop up asking if you would like to save appears after trying to close the game or go to the main menu
3. New patrol artwork
4. "Allow mild gore and blood in patrol artwork" setting added
5. Unknown Residence has a new background
6. New things that can happen on patrol
7. New outcomes for already existing patrol possibilities
8. Former rogues can now join your clan (Not sure if this is new but I just now noticed it so...)
9. You can now meditate cats multiple times in a moon (Can't have same meditator meditate twice and can't have the same couple be meditated twice in a single moon though)
10. During warrior ceremonies, it may occur that the leader has named a new warrior after a certain atribute (Ex: Marshstar gazes proudly down at them as they name them Wingcloud after their vulnerability)
11. Number of cats outside the clans category added in stats
I will edit this reply if I find anything else that is new.

Your anti virus program is probably deleting it, you should look into making ClanGen an exception for the program

The web version is not the same as the downloadable version, as long as you can access a browser you will be able to access the web version

MAKE SURE LINUX IS ON FIRST!
Go to the .zip and right click, hit extract all. Move the new 'Clangen' folder to your general downloads.
exit and right click said folder, hit 'open in terminal' and once the files load, type (case sensitive) ./Clangen.
it should be up and running! if problems join the ding dang discord already

Sounds like your anti virus is deleting clangen files, you need to mark clangen as an exception to your anti virus and try redownloading

I editied the files to make a cat preggos and this happened and i was drawing the whole clan as well please help

I recommend downloading the stable version of the game here, it's much easier than attempting to troubleshoot an app like thonny

I am so grateful for the fact that you can now recover lost cats ^-^. No longer going to lose half my clan without a chance to get them back!

What "allow affairs" means in the settings?
If you hover your mouse over the checkbox of a setting, it will give a description of what it does :)
