Hi! I've tried to play this a few times and it works fine upon download, but when I save and close the application it won't let me open the game again. When I redownload my save is the same, but I would honestly rather not have to keep downloading this game over and over again to play. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
Yeah, it sometimes does that for me, too. I think it's because when your cats try to make them feel more welcome, the other cats get scared and run off, and I think that's why it worsens.

this is because it's getting cut off at the bottom- you're seeing the top half of the "choose a name for your clan" screen. If you resize your window to fit the game, then it should be fine.
Hey, whenever I load my clangen on mobile it makes me scroll down. If I don’t scroll down I can’t see the bottom half, and if I do scroll down I can’t see the first half. Is there any way to fix this?
usually you'd be able to just re-exit the game and get a nice attribute but that doesn't seem to work anymore. 3 cats in a row got the "teacher" skill.
you can access your game saves on the downloadable version, by hitting the open data directory button in your game settings then you can find your clan folder and your clan_cats.json file, which will have all your cats and most of their attributes in it, including their skills
if you need help with it I'd recommend the discord; we have a dedicated save file editing channel
I’m pretty sure you can make a mobile version now, because stuff like Pythonista 3 exists, at least for IOS, and it says you can make games and stuff on it and websites and all sorts of stuff. But just mentioning it, you don’t have to actually do it yet
Just something I thought I'd mention, I got to a part where it revealed the cat who had murdered another, however it seemed to pick the same cat for both parts? "Condortrail overheard Condortrail muttering in their sleep." I'm not sure if the creators read these comments, but it's just a bug sort of thingy so i thought I'd mention it. I clicked on the cats it mentioned, and it showed the same cat twice. I also checked, and I do not have two cats with the same name.

When i opened it up, a popup saying" "Clangen" application cannot be opened; may be damaged or incomplete. " appeared. This of course, scared me. The icon of the app was also different. It was a default (?) app icon? I checked the file and the app was only 11 mb?
I am honestly scared that all my clans will be deleted. Please, if you know anything about this, PLEASE let me know any information.
!!UPDATE!! I HAVE FIXED MY CLANGEN!! ALL OF MY CLANS ARE SAFE.
by the way i am on a macbook air. if you are only experienced with the linux or windows version, i would be happy if you helped me, but you woudn't help that much like a person who is experienced with the macbook version.
Hi! I downloaded this game onto my Mac and I played it for a bit. However, the game then managed to crash and untinstalled itself on my computer. I have cleared it through my firewall and I have tried to install and reinstall new versions of the software but it keeps saying that the version from this website is too old. Is there another version or something else I can use?
I'm guessing it's giving you a "can't check for malicious software, this software needs to be updated"? in which case, there's not actually anything wrong with it, it's just Mac's antivirus falsely flagging it. You can bypass that by right click opening the game (control click if you can't right click)

I'm posting this because I want to know whether or not other people are currently having this issue or not, so if you are please tell me. My cats won't become paralyzed. Like, its impossible for them to become paralyzed. I've even TRIED to make my cats paralyzed, like proceeding on patrols with the thunderpaths. It's hard to explain, but does anyone know ways that cats can become paralyzed in this game?
the online version is just a black screen for me I reopened it and now it says make a new clan but the screen is so zoomed in that when u press the button it is to zoomed in and u can’t see the clan namer thingy meaning u can’t make one either
I don't actually know, but I think we can be reasonably certain it still doesn't work and the devs can't do much of anything about it. It's been a near impossibility for a long time.
tried to get into the discord server to support the game. However, the verify button doesn’t work and I’ve dmed all mods/admins and not a single one has their dms open.
Same thing happened to me, look at the chatbox on rules tab, there may be something you need to click there. I got a pop-up with a few rules to read, a check box and then I was able to click the verify button.
ik its my second time posting but I finally got my personal computer up and running again (I had to get a new one) and the downloads are giving me issues. I use chromebook and I have linux but it still wont download the game just the files. im lost please guide me I scrolled the discord for so long and couldnt find someone also going through this please send help.

the catmaker is a mod, and it is out and can be downloaded, but it's not planned to be part of the official game.

For people who struggle to get this on Chromebook here's a guide:
1. download Linux
2. Open the terminal
3. Type in or copy paste this:
/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://install.clangen.io/stable/linux-glib2.31.sh)"
Now you should be good!

what issue are you having? the game is definitely playable on Mac, generally
Did you make sure to specifically download the Mac version?
can you add the kittypet mode once the cruel season mode is completed?
what do you mean by the kittypet mode? an easy mode? a mode where you play as a kittypet?
playing as a kittypet/group of kittypets is probably too far away from the scope of the game- it is ClanGen.
Classic mode does work as an easy mode, if that's what you're looking for.

Hello! When you press new clan on online version its doesn't show anything except a screen with one starclan cat and a few typical cat silhouettes
this is because it's getting cut off at the bottom- you're seeing the top half of the "choose a name for your clan" screen. If you resize your window to fit the game, then it should be fine.

you can edit the cat skills in the save files if you don't like their skills

open data directory > saves > clan you want to edit (not the json file, the folder) > clan_cats.json
there are resources for all the skills, this one is for stable release

since the skill update earlier this year, a cat's first skill is determined when they're one moon old. So you can't just reroll it when they graduate.

yup that's a bug as far as I can tell. iirc murder events don't get a ton of beta testing just because of being a bit rare.

I believe the lake background is dev-only at the moment, so I'm not sure how you had it at all to be honest.

clangen gets falsely flagged by antivirus all the time- the solution generally is to whitelist it in your antivirus.

you can make them paralyzed yourself by editing the save files.
go to the cat you want to paralyze in clan_cats.json and make "paralyzed: false" to "paralyzed: true"

I thought I heard once there might have been a thing where it's not possible for cats to become paralyzed from injury, only born paralyzed
however my memory is terrible so I might be totally wrong and it's just bad luck

do you mean the prevent fading feature? it's now in cat toggles under the personal tab
prevent fading for the whole clan is also under the new clan settings page! where the stats button used to be
if you mean savescumming to revive cats, that's still a thing so long as you don't have autosave on

we don't really have a permanent solution for the zooming in issue, you just have to resize the window till it works
