I can't play the game since the new update, I downloaded it and when I try to start it, I just get the loading screen, and then it kicks me off. Could anyone help me please?

i think you can unexile a cat by going into the clan_cats file and searching for the exiled cat then turning ""exiled": true," to ""exiled": false," + making ""status": exiled," to ""status: (whatever rank the cat is in the clan e.g. deputy, warrior, elder) but i haven't tried it with any exiled cats i have
Are we no longer allowed to manipulate the saves like we used to be able to? I'm asking cause I lost cats I didn't want to lose yet and accidentally saved when I didn't want too. I swear the game loves to target and kill off my elders which are also my mediators.

hey! i'm on a mac and it keeps downloading as a dmg/not letting me open it. i'm not used to downloading games n such onto my laptop yet, so i was hoping for some guidance! thanks in advance xx
In case you still need this, usually whenever you download a game and it goes to your downloads, from your downloads folder you control-click and open it that way to run it for the first time !
We don't have many contributors working on this port of ClanGen currently, but the issue you're having is pretty well-known. You can try and just wait it out as it will occasionally fix itself, but the most reliable way to fix the issue is to clear your cache! This will unfortunately delete all current Clans you have though. A quick google search can show you how to clear your cache if you're unfamiliar with the process.
Unfortunately not. The only supported systems are Windows, Mac, and Linux, along with a very specific and hard to set up way discovered on Android phones. You can try resizing your window on the online version or clearing your cache if your screen is popping up black (this will sadly delete all clans though).

If your screen is stuck and zoomed in try rotating your screen so that it is like a phone. I had the same problem. I don't know if it will unfreeze you screen this is just what worked for me personally.

Unfortunately that is a pretty well-known issue. We don't have many people working on that version of the game, and there hasn't been a reliable fix found for it yet. You can try re-sizing your window as a possible temporary fix.
Hi is there any chance they will be making this available to Chromebooks not just ones with Linux! and unfortunately im one of those people so please i really like this game and i would really like to play instead of watching vids online! so please if you can!
You can always use the online version! And majority of chromebooks can have Linux enabled as long as they aren't monitored (say by school or parental controls).
It will likely eventually be rewritten in C# or another equivalent language in the future, which would allow us to potentially port it to mobile but there is no timeframe yet for the rewrite, much less the mobile version

Is anyone else having an issue where the patrol types aren't showing up? This has happened with two different clans now and they're all stuck on hunting patrol, besides the med(s).
are you using classic mode? expanded mode introduces the ability to change patrol types yourself (which makes the patrol icons show up), and classic mode's patrols are totally randomized

And 1 day I tried the other version of it and I only played it once, for 1 day and was never allowed to play that version again ever since. I don't what happened, nor do I remember what I did in order to get it to work. But my point is that I've been able to play anything but the online version, which is annoying.
You can try redownloading and replacing all files, your saves are stored in a separate folder and will be protected! You can back them up as well if you'd like to feel a bit safer.

I've just got the game, but it claimed there a "python DLL" file missing, I don't know what to do, I extracted the file, I tried to download all three versions for windows but still won't work, my brother tried to help me and it seems to not work, pleased fix this.
I was having the same issue, but I was able to make an exception to open ClanGen anyway. I googled around and found this:
To change these preferences on your Mac, choose Apple menu
> System Preferences, click Security & Privacy ,then click General.
In the General tab at the bottom it said something like "open clangen" and I clicked it and then reopened clangen and was able to actually open it. sorry if I explained that poorly haha
its on the discord, but i cant figure out hwo to download it myself from the server, you should find the link for the server on some youtube lifegen or clangen videos btw
You download the LifeGen file from the LifeGen Discord server. On the server, they have a channel named "how-to-download". That's where the tutorials are located.
The file link/download is located in "game-announcements".

you can download the game on a Lenovo I believe! I'd suggest joining the discord for help with it as it can be sometimes finicky (assuming they're similar to Chromebooks).
unfortunately there's a multitude of issues with making this a mobile game! the biggest one being that it's coded in python 3, while to port it into mobile it would need to be in python 2. So short of recoding the entire game, it's not really possible to easily add it on mobile.
In the meantime you can still play the web version on mobile- that should work fine.

no, you cannot currently unexile a cat.
Cruel Season is planned to be worked on once all the features of Expanded Mode are finished, since it'll be a harder version of Expanded.

yup saves are still available to be messed with. You can click the "open data directory" button in your game settings to access them.

It has automatic updates, if you originally installed it before auto updates were added you have to redownload it

This is the absolute most interesting/fun game ever! It's super simple and easy, and it's such an enjoyable experience.
